Most cleanliness complaints on short-term rentals come from the same handful of places: a hair in the shower, a smudged mirror, a bed that looks remade rather than fresh, or an empty toilet paper roll. A good turnover routine is built to catch exactly those things.
Start with the beds. Strip every bed, wash and dry the linens, and remake each one with clean sheets. Set out fresh towels for every guest the listing allows. Guests notice crisp linens before almost anything else.
Then sanitize the bathrooms and kitchen completely: toilets, showers, mirrors, countertops, sinks, and appliances. Vacuum and mop every floor, dust the furniture, and restock the basics guests reach for first: toilet paper, soap, and coffee.
The last step is the one most hosts skip: a final check. Look for anything the previous guest left behind, and photograph the condition of the unit before you lock up. Those photos give you a record if a guest reports a problem, and peace of mind when you can't be there yourself.
